How the work earns trust.
For This Hour is made with human judgment and modern tools. These are the promises that matter after the novelty wears off.
The new Appointment Card, Workshop Receipt and uncoached ship gate apply to editions entering brief after 31 July 2026. Edition 001 predates those templates and the FOR THIS HOUR house identity; its original disclosure record remains unchanged.

A human is accountable.
Every edition has a human editor responsible for its premise, judgment, taste and final claims. Tools can expand the workshop; they do not inherit responsibility.

Research must survive the edit.
Important factual claims are checked against credible sources. Sources are kept close enough to the work that a reader can follow them, and uncertainty is named rather than smoothed away.

The machines leave a receipt.
Material AI use is disclosed by function, boundary, human check and information cutoff. AI is never treated as a witness, reader, source or byline.

Rights travel with the work.
Original, licensed, public-domain and third-party material are distinguished. Credits, licenses and restrictions live with the edition—not in a forgotten private document.

Corrections remain visible.
Substantive corrections are dated and described. Quiet typographic repairs need no ceremony; changes that alter meaning do.

The reader is not inventory.
This site currently uses no newsletter form, behavioural ad system or engagement streak. If that changes, the purpose and trade-off will be explained before collection begins.

Money does not edit the verdict.
Support is disclosed beside the work it touches, including what it paid for and what it could not influence. Paid participation never buys an undisclosed recommendation.

Each edition must end.
Every edition begins with an approved wager, one accountable editor and a finite production cap. It reaches a clear state—publish, hold or kill—because more is not evidence of better.

An appointment, not an identity.
Every new edition entering brief states the occasion, first move, honest requirements, finish line and boundary. Intended readers try it uncoached, and the exit contains no teaser, signup or next-content lure.
